My Experience

Pastries - $4

Butter Croissant - $2.5

Coffee/Tea - $1

Fresh Juice - $2

Even though I was very sick the whole time I was in Porto, I still had the best time exploring the city. I did miss out on some socializing and the nightlife, but it didn't stop me from seeing all the sights. The city was walkable and very affordable. It was raining on and off while I was there, but it didn't affect my plans, and the temperature was actually very comfortable.
Wine tasting!
A great experience, but as someone who doesn't like wine, port wine was not for me!

Church of Saint Ildefonso

This was the first church I visited, and even though I went for the outside, the inside is worth taking the time to visit. They have a couple of galleries you can walk through, and the chapel is beautiful. Plus going inside didn't cost anything!

Almada 13

Although I didn't buy anything from this store, it was such a fun store to look around in. There were so many cool ceramics and art prints to look through. If you are looking for a souvenir or postcard, I would recommend checking this place out!

Gaia Cable Car

After walking down to the riverbank for a wine tasting with my hostel, we all decided to catch a ride back up on the cable car. The sun was starting to set, and the view over the river was amazing. It also saved us the trouble of walking back up the huge hill, so definetly worth the cost.

Onefam Ribeira Hostel was a great location and helped me save money on my trip. Dinners were provided every night, and were delish! The staff was always eager to give out recommendations or encourage you to join the fun. Each night, a staff member hosted drinking games before taking the group out to the clubs. I never went out, but I stuck around for drinking games one night and had a good time!

One of my favorite experiences was walking around this church and climbing up the tower. I recommend getting the ticket that allows you to visit the tower. The view of the city was incredible, even though it was raining when I went. There were exhibits inside the church and the chapel was stunning as well. There was so much history, you could spend hours walking around, but I stayed for about an hour.

After having an upset stomach the day before, this breakfast revived me before traveling back to Lisbon and flying home to the States. I got the sweet pancakes, a yogurt parfait, and a cappuccino, which was definitely too much, but I needed to refuel. The cafe was super comfortable and cute, giving me the perfect place to hang out for a bit in the morning while I killed time.
